New Spaces to Wonder and Play at The Northstar Nest
The Northstar Nest is a place to learn and grow for our learners, educators, parents, and the community. We have spent an incredible amount of time designing our spaces. Alongside our indoor learning architecture, we have spared no effort to create meaningful, fun, and curriculum-aligned play areas.
Free, open play is a child’s right. In a world full of screens and shrinking play spaces, children need a place to connect with the physical world. Watching our children play daily fills us with absolute joy and wonder. We are happy to share the new additions to our existing play area at The Northstar Nest:
- Suspended Bridge : Jump, Hop and balance through the suspended bridge.
- Void Ring Jump: Stretch, maneuver and climb to navigate through void ring hurdles.
- Coil Pole: Slide by coiling around a vertical pole and swirling downwards.
- Crawl Tunnel: Crawl through semicircular arches forming a tunnel resting on a soft base to prevent injury.
- Swiggle Knots: Slide through the coil pole as gravitational force works its way down and hop on climbing bars to advance towards Swiggle knots looping around Gulmohar tree.
- Monkey bar rings: The monkey bars challenge young adventurers to travel from one end to the other using only their hands, building upper-body strength and coordination while having fun.
- Balancing Beams: Placed diagonally to each other in varying heights, balance while hopping over balancing stumps with vertical pole support on each other.
- Climb & Crawl Unit: Climbing over the bars and further climbing covers two of the important functions successively.
- Climbing Wall: This vertical adventure unit challenges children to map their own route to the top, promoting physical grit and spatial planning.
These new additions are our promise to keep expanding the world of our children. We watch them test the new climbing wall or figure out the rhythm of the suspended bridge, and we are reminded of why we built this place. We are providing them the space to wonder, attempt, fail, laugh, and try again.
